The hare began as my poem about mountain hares on a grouse shoot. In the black and white version the poem has taken over from the image! The text in this and 'Snowdrops' and 'BB' is hand carved linocut. The two editions of 'June Buck' began as a single colour linocut with screen print; then I used the same block for a 'reduction' print with a reworked shadow. 'Snow Doe' and 'October Breath' were the first reduction linocuts made on my then new old Columbian press.
Contrasting techniques: Two more linocut and screenprint combinations - and two screenprints where I tried to push the method of printing many layers of transparent inks to its limit! 'Late May' was used as the cover of the Shooting Times Game Fair issue.
These even earlier prints show my early revisiting for many years of the use of the graphic qualities of linocut - sometimes using a photo positive from a lino block to make a screenprint. Something I rarely do now.
