This page is something of a cross between the blog content and the showing of print editions elsewhere.
Possibly because I have worked in commercial design and mass print production in previous parts of my career, most of the work I produce these days are small editions from an often quite complex and self limiting production process. I also like to have as much control as all my experience can offer over every technical element of the process. I do not really like 'happy accidents'. But as all printmakers will admit - no print ever turns out exactly as was planned!
Another thing that fascinate me about making printed work is the potential for cross over between graphic objects and contexts. This is a big subject of course. Why should a T Shirt or lampshade hand printed with a lino block be classed as less worthy than a piece of paper signed and put in a frame? - Discuss!
Therefore, both in order to keep myself moving forward technically (there is always something new to learn!) and also to enjoy print in a slightly less 'precious' way, I sometimes come up with projects that will end up being shown here - if nowhere else!
